just say NO!

When will I learn my lesson!!? How many times will I ask myself this question!!? This is like the 3rd time in a month I have gotten myself into trouble thinking that I was getting something for nothing...kinda. It's like an obsessive impulse that I can't beat. Here's my disease... I go to the "FREE" dinner at Ruby River which ends up being the 'scare you into buying a 3000.00 alarm system,'dinner. As soon as I almost recover from that emotional drama, I call the toll free number to get the FREE wet jet and end up with a guy in my house trying to sell me a 2700.00 miracle mate vacume. And then like a brainless idiot I somehow let the Kirby vacume people in to "clean any one room in my house for FREE!!!" Maybe I really am losing it. But I was really gonna tell these guys, NO! Somehow that kid got me to believe they weren't gonna try to sell me anything, they just wanted to clean my carpets...oh how sweet. Now, I am really not that stupid but here is what I am saying in my head "Ok this guy is full of it but he knows I don't want to buys anything and it would be nice to have my carpet cleaned so I can put up with his shinanigans for a few minutes, say no and viola---clean carpet for FREE!!" It turned into chaos with people running in and out of my house someone pouring baking soda on my floor to show me how well their vacume gets it all out and in the middle decides to pull up my bedding to show the dead skin he can suck up out of the mattress, in the end they forgot to get the baking soda all the way out. So after being manipulated to death about how my vacume sucks(actually how bad it doesn't suck)and after these people try to make me feel like a fool because I won't fork over 2500.00 for their vacume, they finally left. Was it worth the FREE carpet cleaning??? I'm still asking myself that same question...

That's funny. It is just so enticing when they say that you get something for free. Ha ha

You get what you pay for. I hear you Heidi. I'm always enticed by "free" things...but they always come with a price.

It was great to see you last week. Thanks for sending me your blog!

Ha Ha Ha...that exact same thing happened to us last Saturday. We lost our entire Saturday due to those Kirby guys. This is Jamie Hofheins, by the way. How are you??? I found your blog through Farrah's. Ours is jakeandjamie.blogspot.com. Your baby is so cute too!

I had a slight panic attack just reading this. Very funny and yet freaky at the same time. I HATE these situations. We did the same thing to get a free stay at a hotel. Still don't know if it was worth the fuss.
