cute conversation

Scarlet: mom, can I throw this (fruit snack wrapper) on the ground?

Me: no.

Scarlet: because why?

Me: because we don't throw trash on the ground it makes the earth not beautiful

Scarlet: But it will be beautiful, because there are princesses on it!

Here is the solution to de-junking our planet...just put princesses on all our trash and it will still be beautiful.

This is how we roll...

Don't judge me. Alright, go ahead if you have to. I admit Scarlet watches too may shows!!! Its just too easy to give in, especially since Rosie came along. I think its also harder in the winter. To my defense I really, really try to limit Scarlet to ONE show a day. Sometimes it's two and occasionally on the really tough days...its three. BUT its almost ALWAYS her idea not mine...like those excuses? Well I am the queen of them, just come to me if you are feeling down, I will find some excuses for you too! This may be one of my NYR's (new year resolutions) STOP MAKING EXCUSES, either except something or change it...we'll see how it goes. But excuses are so nice...(grrr) maybe I will pick a different resolution.

Ice princess

We went ice skating over the holidays. I used to think I was an ice skating wonder, I could spin on one leg kinda fast and do some cool little jumps. Well, it was too crowded and the "ice monitor" informed me that I had to stay on two skates...boring. If you can't spin and jump what do you do!? Just skate around and around and arouuuunnnddddd...snorrr. Scarlet was ADORABLE in those miniature skates. She made it around maybe twice, slipping and sliding (and whining) while we held her hands. She was not a fan. But she was the cutest ice skater I have ever seen. We'll try again next year.

a lovely holiday

We had ourselves a merry little Christmas. We made the yuletide gay (that's what the song says you know) and a good new year too. I definitely have some things I want to improve on this year but I will save that for another post. Here is a little glimpse into our Holiday fun. Christmas morning Rosie wakes up at her usual bright and early 7:30. We usually wait about 5 to 15 min for Scarlet to follow suit. Well, 8:00 came and went then 8:30 and 8:45!! Dave and I were getting really antsy, we wanted to open presents!! We mostly wanted to see Scarlet open presents but come on!! We ended up going in at 9 to tell her rise and shine Santa had come. Sheesh! The one day of her life she sleeps in...CHRISTMAS MORNING!!! It was worth the wait. My cute sister Amy slept over too so she could join in the fun. This was one of my favorite Christmases. Scarlet was so fun to watch, it was magical, just like it used to be when I was a kid. Rosie mostly slept, but Scarlet enjoyed her presents for her. Our California cousins came to town and we played nice and hard. This week I have sat around and tried to do nothing, nice and hard.
